Head of Coffee at Origin Coffee Roasters
Throughout Freda’s six-year coffee career she’s worked on both sides of the supply chain, from barista through to green coffee buyer, with other roles including roasting and QC’ing. During this time, she’s qualified as an authorised SCA trainer, become an SCA sensory judge and gained licensed Q-grader status.
As well as her professional coffee qualifications, Freda is a well-known and highly respected figure in the competition circuit, having been awarded the title of UK Cup Tasters Champion in 2017 and 2018, as well as number three in the world in 2017.
Her current role as Head of Coffee for Origin Coffee Roasters, one of the UK’s leading speciality roasters, sees her develop, curate and source their direct trade coffee program. In this role her values and approach to coffee are clear, with quality and producer welfare being at the heart of everything she does. She’s a champion of sustainability, traceability and put simply, delicious coffee.
This workshop aims to increase attendees' sensory awareness and self-development through activities including a wine tasting and a tactile shaping activity. Attendees will be encouraged to consider the way that they communicate their own sensory experience to others in the workshop.
